Peer review policies
同行评议

Journal of Tropical Meteorology (JTM) operates a single blind review process. All contributions will be initially assessed by the Journal of Tropical Meteorology Editorial Office for suitability for the journal. Suitable papers are then typically sent to a minimum of two independent expert reviewers to assess the scientific quality of the paper. The editor-in-chief and vice editors-in-chief of JTM are responsible for the final decision regarding acceptance or rejection of articles.

本刊实行单盲评审。在收到稿件后，编辑部会评估稿件是否适合在本刊刊出，适合的稿件将会送给至少两位外审专家审阅，最后由本刊主编或副主编决定文章是否录用。

To save time for authors and peer-reviewers, we only send out papers that meet our editorial criteria for formal review. The Journal of Tropical Meteorology Editorial Office will make a decision based on the reviewers' advice, from among several possibilities:

为了节省作者和审稿专家的时间，我们只对适合本刊的文章送审。本刊主编和副主编最后根据审稿专家的意见，从以下几种可能性中做出决定:

Accept, with or without editorial revisions

录用/修改后录用

Invite the authors to minor or major revise their manuscript to address specific concerns before a final decision is reached

修改后再审

Reject, typically on grounds of specialist interest, lack of novelty, insufficient conceptual advance or major technical and/or interpretational problems

退稿/改投他刊

We appreciate the time that referees devote to assessing the manuscripts. In particular, many submitted manuscripts contain large volumes of additional (supplementary) data and other material, which take time for referees to evaluate. We thank our referees for their continued commitment to our publication process and to help recognize this effort.

审稿专家为审稿花费了大量时间和精力，特别是许多稿件含有大量的附加(补充)数据和其他材料，需要审稿专家花时间来评估，对此我们深表感激。

We use Qinyun Manuscript systems for referee to evaluate the papers. This can be found on the tab of the referee on JTM website.
